For no particular reason....here's a pic of Bloomfield St, Cleveland, about 50 years ago...who would have thought all these years later, that there would be car shows/music/foodvans here...see story further on...
another flyer I saw.....same weekend as Toowoomba rod run??..
and..don't forget, it's my 49th coffee run this coming Sunday, 6th March, back at Victoria Point Lakeside as per usual...
Pic of a coupe Les W saw for sale at the Decatur Texas swap meet yesterday......cars are still out there, just need rolls of $$$$$
Here's another, just to give me inspiration....
Had a few drinks and pizza this week with some local rodders....like the backdrop?
Les Ws coupe, parked beside Dave Ws new work in progress sedan..
Mick checking out the driving position..
Dave Ws roadster...stunner could be yours, if you come up with better than $110,000
parking was a premium, so old faithful sedan waited outside...
2 hours turned into 4..but a good night...we should do more of these informal get-togethers..thanks Dave W for hosting us..
So Saturday, I had decided to either go to the Nostalgia Drags..(all day n night, 1 hour drive )..or go to the Cleveland Retro Car n Food truck thingy...(5 minute drive)....Cleveland won.....
Considering the other events that were on, about 200 turned up here..not bad!
Good mix of cars as usual..
don't ya love this wagon....I do!
always makes me think of Dealey Plaza, and the Texas School Book Depositry
Hey...it's finished, and looks good!
crowd wasn't as big as Australia day...but think the organisers would be happy...I believe it's every two months from now on..
rare intake on a Poncho..
Les W also sent this pic back from Texas....he will be on a plane as we speak, back to Aus to sort a few things out, then back to Texas agin in a few weeks....I'd like to think he's only coming back to come to the coffee morning...lol
another big local event...but this also clashes with the Toowoomba Rod Run....unless u leave T'wmba bright n early Sun morn.
I keep forgetting to remind people of this..another sort of local event for me...
April 10 is this event, as well as my coffee morning...I will go to both.....as the Surfers Drags was a big part of my life...it goes from 9am to 3pm, at around about where the old startline used to be..
Toowoomba Rod Run now have a place for the Sunday show n shine..the Cobb n Co museum.

McDonald Bros T bucket...way ahead of its time, as was Longfields.
Uh-oh...with the radio blaring.."you took a fine time to leave me, loose wheel"...the Tasman Tragety
The Red Tulip hisself...Jim Rose.
one of the many Cussos that got wrecked at mums house..
well, not all...wish this was still for sale...probably went for all of $200!
me n my bucket..on the way to 75 Nats..
Tom Fultons ahead of its time radical injected flattie, wire wheeled, vertical steered 26 T
and unfendered, in true Fulton fashion
The wagon that almost killed us...Peter rescued this from Wanless Wreckers, built her up, I took ownership, and one night, with 4 onboard...put her into a lampost...hello...two broken legs later..
tin hunting in northern NSW...
T bucket sales in mums front yard...
production line for the hot rods....gettin' it done in the dirt....Y blocks and flatheads were the in thing, late 60s..
Pigs Shed.....many an ale was consumed at the must go to place...where Tom machined parts for just about every hot-rodder and drag racer in town..
a much younger Tom....
under mums house...dirt floors, old wood vice on a narrow rickety bench, but still, lots of projects went thru this area...
