Beaut Winters day for my "Boys Day Out" run

What a great day for the middle of winter...temps hit 25 degrees, so we headed off for a visit to Steve n Sharon Coades home/business in Ormeau.....I forgot my camera, so thanks, Lance, for these pics of the day...

 about 20 cars, and about 40 people..not a bad roll-up!

Steves shop always full of projects, for himself and customers..

also container loads of parts arriving...the Go-To shop for early iron lately...

inside his half workshop/half playroom, as you can see around the walls and roof...

separate room, just for doing the welding/grinding/dirty jobs...lots of clever ideas, keeping it all neat and tidy

 old faithful shop truck..

so then, off to the pub for the $10 lunch deal...a good day out, and was good for those who hadn't been to 'Early Times Autos" to see where it was, and what is in stock..

my feeble attempt at photography with my phone....but you can get an idea of how Steve is starting to fill the shelves with hot rod parts for sale..here's 9" narrowed rears, and dropped axles..
front and rear suspension hardware....really caters well for a rolling chassis deal..

a stack of finished 32 frames, and a few core auto trans..
here's the ph #...give him a call...thanks Steve n Sharon, for hosting the shop tour....

Thursday night...time to blog..

Just read this in the paper today, and realised I mentioned it starts at 10 am Sunday...wrong!..9am..still plenty of time to come to my coffee morning first if you intend going along to Greazefest...
and..can't remember if I mentioned, if you are looking for Steve Coades house next Wednesday, on my Boys Day Run..it's basically opposite #86 Peachy Road..
and speaking with Steve recently, prompted me to put up that last blog about the Asbestos dilemma that importers are facing..once again, a tiny problem becomes a huge issue..glad I'm not importing anymore....but it makes you wonder.....will they decide to call up every car ever built-imported just to see if there is some form of asbestos...and the car industry is just a small part...think of all the other imports that may have it...all the earthmoving machinery...all sorts of boats..it all started from the building industry....I believe the problem is too big to enforce, for the minute amount that may affect our lives......can't wait to see how this all plays out for our hobby......
also forgot to mention that Grant Cox has his 1928 A pickup for sale, and it seems like a pretty good deal at $41,000......all steel, but with 'glass fenders, 289W, 4 speed single rail, Jag front n rear ends, currently on Qld LH10 rego..ph. Grant on 0412-855 756.

and..if you have anything else you either want to sell, or need to find, if I can help by listing it on here, more than happy to do it...email pics/details to greg@comstar.com.au
