I collect all sorts of things, and record albums with hot rod/drags is one of them.
Most of you know of the common ones, but there were lots of rare ones to find.
Wish I had some of these in my collection, I have some Jan n Dean, and Beach Boys
I have this one...owned it in the 60s...lost it..got it again on one of my USA trips
Probably the most famous cover of them all....and the hot rod song that gets played most worldwide...imagine the royalties this tune has generated for them?
Hmmm...that's different....cool T bucket though..looks like a stab n steer job.
Never heard of this one...have to look up these songs on you-tube or I-Tunes...haha.. you know you can find almost anything these days on the web...love it!!
60s hot rod days...red..chrome..multi carbs..white trim...and calif. black n yellows!
Dick Dale had lots of covers..no room to put them all on...just go to google images.
Just shows what's available to the serious collector....maybe I'll just look for some more for my garage....to go with my re-newed collection of old hot rod books!!

new roadster costing too much...parts have to go!!
Just a reminder that I am having another garage clean out, and lots of bits are on e bay right now, so take a peek in case there's something you just got to have!!..haha
Guess what...it's Winter-time!
Called in to see Les Winter this week, and here is an update on his projects...nice workmanship on the exhaust....as usual, simple, no frills for this flattie flyer.
Ribs n Blocks give it the look!...colour combo is ..different!
FFFFFttt,..FFFfftttt....listen to her rev!.....duda.duda.dudada.dudada
Body is just about ready to fit back on the frame....except....The Model A project still gets in the way!..Just jump from one car to the other, that's the way to do it.

Found these old pics of when the sedan delivery raced in Super Stock...and was street driven...won this Ampol series meeting defeating Rod Sendalls Gurney Weslake Jeep..(wonder where that motor is now)...Gary Densham and John Force also raced that meeting...next pic is the 454 SS/A of Tomy Harrington, and the old 55 chev gasser days...cool.
Not many people realize Les bought the old Ash Marshall fueller and had it displayed in the QDRA clubrooms for many years.

Nothing to post..'cept my favourite type of race cars!!
I've always loved Fiat altered, but they have to be old school 60s types like this.
I've always loved Jr Fuellers for some reason..but have to have low seating, not like the newer styles with raised driver seating.
And...my all time favourite speedway cars have to be Super Modifieds..loved going to the "Ekka" to see the yanks take on the aussies....Roy Hammond, Dick Britton, Keith Blikarski, Ron Wanless, Bill Warner, Larry Burton, Alan Belcher, Sid Hopping...
Next favourite in speedway had to be what the yanks had...V8s with Midget style bodies...early sprint cars I suppose.
Historic circuit racing was great to, spent a lot of time at Lakeside watching the EH S4s, Mini Coopers, Lotus Cortinas, and countless FX/FJs doing battle with Mustangs..
Offy powered midgets are cool as well, and I try to get to some of these events locally.
Another all time fav is the Two Lane Blacktop 55....so cool!...I love all the cars above, and thank goodness for the internet that we can walk down memory lane,

Always loved front engine diggers, like my cousin Graeme Scholes when he had the old Ash Marshall Scorcher...lot of history with this car!
I've always wanted to combine my love of the drags with street rods, and this is what I would probably build, just racy enough, and to still be street legalOffy powered midgets are cool as well, and I try to get to some of these events locally.

Saturday nights line up of more weird drag cars
If one flatties not enough, put another in!! Nice detailing on these engines.
Seriously....would you strap in and say.."fire her up!!"
Ivos famous 4 buick monster, imagine cleaning it after a day at the drags.
here's a better pic of Jim Lytles 4 Allison motored Fiat..
Think there's an exhaust leak in there somewhere!
Say, why don't we put two blown engines in this ol' gal, and a front wheel drive setup as well......your turn to steer it!!
"Can't see past the blower..lets put 2 engines in and lay 'em over!"...
Eddie Hill had the right idea...2 engines will need 4 slicks!!

idling along in June....family commitments have slowed me down!
this is as far as the body is painted, should have the topside done in a week or two..
Radiator in, engine fired up and sort of tuned....but need some 98 octane for the 11:1
Halibrands back on now.........We're moving Nitas 93 y.old mum to a nursing home with 24/7 care, so many trailer loads of her bits are stacking up in the shed...aint no fun getting old....but she's doing ok. at the moment.
Another good coffee morning at our now regular spot at Victoria Point...38 cars.great!will have to move around the back, as this street gets way to busy after 9am!
Don't see Merv Randalls 32 often, good to see him at these runs...Love the convert below!...these coffee runs are expanding, good to see, nice low key catch=ups.
...haven't had time to blog much, Anitas mum is in an out of hospital, and we have done the rounds organizing nursing homes, so everything takes a back seat....Glenn has become a granddad this week, so painting on hold for a bit as well.Found these dragsters while trolling the web....take a look at that blower drive!
How about a 6 carb chev in tandem with a blown Chrysler!!
