Big weeekend for hot rods....

Funny how things happen, and you don't know everything that goes on in town...these pics are from Darryls coffee run last Sunday at Maroochydore...same day that I had my extra one on down here...but thanks to Facebook...I find out that also, there was a Rods Inc. run to the northside...Petrie/Wivenhoe area, and Graffitti club had a run to the southside, and there was mention of a small show/swap somewhere on the southside...and the Mopar Nostalgia drags were on as well!!
Anyway....seems like it doesn't matter if anything clashes...just choose the event you want to attend, and get out there!

Another hot rod lost......just got this off facebook

Looks like an electrical gremlin got hold off Steve Hynards 36 before he could do anything
It was a cool car....sorry to see what happened..

For those who weren't there..coffee, August 27.

New car to the run...didn't find out who..but it had NSW rego, and Pat Laub ridin' shotgun....
Can always depend on Wilko being there, no matter how cold it gets!
There's something about 28/29s, that make them just about the pick of Henrys early bodies...think it's the roll of the front fenders.
Pauls channelled deuce is seeing lots of highway miles....probably done more in two years than I have in the 6 years my sedan has been finished.
You think this is good....wait until the coupe is done...hope it's black as well....
Umm....anyone need to buy a successful Panel n Paint shop.....Lester needs to get it sold so he can continue the dream trip in USA....
Manlys Mr Model A man..........tough tudor!
Surprised Glen hasn't sold the roadster yet!...it's a great car..offers around low $60k...
New mufflers!!......Scrivo can sneak up on you now!!....anyone got a spare pair of front halibrands....two neede for his new Tudor project..
LHD Chev tub is at nearly every coffee morning....think it's for sale as well.
Pedro is making good progress in the rebuild of his 30 coupe....but still a lot of months off yet.....so ol' reliable gets to do the miles.....don't know if anyone realises the historic significance of this Tudor...it was hot rodded in Nu Zuland in the early 60s, so...a 50 year old hot rod...how cool to own this piece of history!!
Ace shutterbug, Dale Haberfield is becoming semi- regular, in between other photo shoots....nice to catch up for a coffee!......(and thanks for dropping the old magazines in to read!)
Didn't catch any info on this Chev Panel....but it was sweet!
Moore family are lucky.....almost shortest distance to come....and a fleet of Fords to choose from.....the Windsor powered Cusso was todays pick.
Fleet owners....Gordon brought his cusso rather than the coupe....
Then Bill turns up in his newly built 65 Vette coupe...rather than bringing his 65 Vette roadster...
 Nice sign!
I love the patina......this El Camino would be welcome in any garage..luv it!
Here's another that has lots of miles under those tyres...

Would you believe...one car parked behind the other...what are the chances??

Erics coupe made a welcome appearance.....
Ha...another fleet owner...Evan had a choice of many, but the Cusso got the nod today.
And....Bruce brought the Landau...instead of the Compact...while the Mustang sits at home awaiting final assembly..

This young fella drives all the way from Tamborine...almost never misses a run!
 something about black 33/34s..........
Hurry up an buy Chris n Heathers coupe.....they need to get the other two finished and on the rod run scene.....
My old sedan took a bit of cranking to get going...I don't seem to drive it anywhere except to my coffee runs...makes the $1000 plus full rego seem a waste....
Almost furthest to drive...but first one there...thanks, Gary...mister reliable, and one of Australias/Brisbanes original rodders, that made his mark.....looking through all the early magazines I have, and can't believe the shows you went to in the early sixties...(who remembers them..Mattara..Roselands..Taree..Bankstown..Lang Park..McD n East )
and....the award for who lives the closest....and arrived last......goes to Johnnie....haha...glad you could make it....yawn..You still tired?

Life.....we need to aware of how things can change.....

It's been a rough month since I have been back from USA....as most of you realise, we never know what is going to be around the corner.....it got me thinking today of all that has come across my life this month..my cousin was laid to rest last Thursday after a battle with Cancer. One of out caravanning friends passed away after battling health issues for a couple of years.  My 70 year old sister has been in hospital twice in two weeks battling fluid build ups and decreased lung capacity, my Dad died at 46, Mum at 73, my other sister died from breast cancer at 58......shows their is no set rule in any family...and two more of my friends wives are battling breast cancer issues.....couple more with heart issues that have had to rearrange their lives...and that's just the start.....couple more have been battling ongoing depression issues, another has to have a back operation, another is loosing eyesight, and so it goes on...and further afield in the news..planes down..wars everywhere...just how long do we have our good health is a lottery, so don't miss a moment in life to enjoy yourself or help others.....in a small way, that's why I enjoy the coffee get togethers and mid week runs, we need each other around..and healthy!

Everyone seems to get a bug this time of the year...and I was one of them....even though I had my flu shots early in the year, I still managed to get something...I tried to fight it by home remedy, but as I was doing so many hospital visits, I decided to go see my GP...well, two lots of anti-biotics and puffers has knocked it out.....but for Brisbnae.ites...we have to be extra careful, as July/August seems to be the time when cold/flu gets passed around...Winter Westerleys and Ekka Time!!

I travel to the RBH every week now to visit a good friend who had an unfortunate accident on a remote cattle property, and is now in the burns unit....just makes you aware of how things can change in an instant...my friend lost his brother in law in the accident (rip), and he now has 40% burns to him......meaning..relocation of the family to Brisbane for a least a year or more for specialist treatment....but what a change to life.....find a house for the family...relocate the kids for schooling..find someone to run their property......................just makes you think of how careful we all must be..lif is so precious.

Makes you wonder about how long we have in this world, and how we should try so hard to make sure we all enjoy good health, because it can change anytime!
