I do more than just hot rods....sometimes...I go bush!

There is a group of us that went around Australia in 2000, (we left on the Monday after Cleveland 2000...parked the hotrod, and towed out in the Landcruiser....Anyway..this was our first time away in our caravan in 18 months..at Murphys Creek Escape near Toowoomba....(the flood waters went thru here at the base of that tree...scary, when you think that this is where that flood started to gain momentum)
Very barren, but nice all the same....weather was good during the day...about 27 C..but we knew we would need a fire at night...and the warmth of our caravans..
5 couples there.....which meant, we would have a great time, eat too much food, and drink too much...and get sick from the cold....so what.....we have fun!!
relaxing in the sun....we took about a ton of firewood, and all our braziers, but just used the main fire pit.
then in the shade....talking about all the future trips we want to do.....
then the big cook-up.....roast beef, roast pork, lots of veggies, all cooked on the camp ovens in the fire.......then followed by nice desserts, and more wine/scotch/port....hic..
the drinkies around the fire.......warm as toast!...life is good!......then we placed a thermometer behind the log.......2C at 8:30pm.........and we knew it would only get colder.....
Saturday, up to Toowoomba to have a look at the caravan show...and this is what we find.......had only just happened...no one hurt, just an expensive repair job.

back that night for more food...had a great 3 day break away, even though it got a bit cool at times,  but we had to leave the gang to get back for our grandsons birthday party.....
Back to Brissy, drop the van, change cars, and scoot over for Elis' 2nd birthday...couldn't resist showing the dump truck theme cake...
and the tipper of cheese balls...
 and the b'day boy......

and couldn't resist going to see Wilga St.....where all sorts of hot rod stuff happened in the 70s....Charlie n Ethel treated everyone like family. Hot rodding in S.E. Qld wouldn't be the same without the influence of the Winter family!
