Rest In Peace, Darryl Kuhnemann...

Sad day for the local rodding community today, with the passing of well known rodder, Darryl Kuhnemann...Condolences to Dianne, Zac and Nicky, and all his extended family...
Darryl was there in the early days..way back in the late 60s in Toowoomba, he got the bug to build hot rods..
early 1970s..he had this A bucket on the road..

then went on to build many more hot rods for himself, and the wider hot rod community..from memory, he built about 10 for himself in his 50 years of rodding, but also, another 80 or so partial or full builds for customers....he made his mark in S.E. Qld hot rodding..
I had first met Darryl around 1970, so when I got back into rods, he was there to help me build them..first of two roadsters..

 then two sedans..
Most will remember his coupe, the 3 window went to many local and national events..
 likewise his roadster...
loved nothing more than a hot rod road trip...
or travelling to USA with his good friends..
or just hanging out at local runs
...................................Darryl, you were are great friend,  we will all miss you'................................

....................................FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS..................................
Darryl's funeral will be held next Saturday, 1st July from 12 noon at Gregson and Weight Chapel, Wises Road, Buderim. The service will go for an hour, then tea and bikkies from 1pm to 2pm. From here, Darryl will begin his last cruise....

It was the wish of Darryl and his family that as many rods, customs and classics accompany him on his last cruise. This will leave Gregson and Weight Buderim and travel to Ackerman Road, Kulangoor, to the Lawn Cemetery. An A.S.R.F.  sanction is in place for concessional registered cars.

In this time of sadness, it is comforting to know that the rodding community can come together to recognise Darryls life.....
