blog # 858..Boys Day Out to Qld. Raceway

Now, first, can I try to explain something that I don't understand....the way the pictures sometimes load...last blog, I'm told there were some large, some small...this time, I notice they are all out of sequence from how I loaded them, so must be a glitch between my computer and google blogger...too hard to fix, so enjoy the story as it jumps around...
My Boys Run this week was to meet at QR, and watch some of the GEAR members having a day of racing..every month, they race at either QR, or Lakeside, and some travel quite a bit..not unlike us rodders travelling around...always a plethora of Minis..
classy Mustang had a 352 cube Windsor, and has raced in USA before shipping out to Aus...and I couldn't help but notice, technically, it's a 32 Ford..........lol.
jump ahead...lunch break, and they usually give us a few laps to go crazy....
a dozen cars...about 20 guys...not a bad roll-up, but I expected more, considering so many said they enjoyed it last time....maybe lakeside is more attractive...
hmm..pics and stab n steer....well, just puttin' along, really..not game to push it too hard with 4.5" front rims and 155 tyres...asking for trouble...

 Now...push it thru the firewall.....
Kiwi import Pontiac coupe had the hot rod flavour...basically stock, but modified chassis and suspension..really!, but had LS power

not too many cars here..expected 36 degree heat probably stopped them, but also, maybe some of the old Holdens were on their way to Tassie for the Baskerville classic..

after 4 laps of leading, and trying to take photos, Brad and John finally got past me...lol.
dang...you realise how hard it is to change your camera to reverse photos, and drive into corners, and line up and take the pic...looks like I've got some of those gooffy lolly teeth..duh..
and..from Chris dansie in the later model Ford..ready..set...
 off for the chase!

pristine Vette did quite a few laps in amongst the others....everyone stays away from each other..
little Fiat didn't go too bad...it's amazing the diversity here..
look-alike Indy car from the 60s...but built locally..Hilux engine, toyota gearbox, modified Toyota van rear.....it did look good!
for you Tim..tie-rod ends on the radius rods,
watcha reckon...it certainly looks like the 50s-60s..
this cutie had a tiny blower hanging out the front, with the biggest SU carb we've ever seen...

another 32 Ford...
the office..
lot happening under the hood..
check the way the pipes on the Mustang feed ofer to both exit one side...
LS in the Poncho

...finish with an intersting trailer setup that dropped the trailer on the dirt for loading..
that's all..see some of you this weekend at  Bayers Smash Repairs coffee morning..Cairns St., Loganholme.
