bit of this..bit of that..

Some of you know that Darren sold his coupe...gone to Cairns I believe...
Anyway...didn't take him long...he has a model A tourer project for his next build!
I haven't worked much on my coupe project, for nearly 4 months now...just other things get in the way...like USA...health...grandkids..caravan trippin'....
but I did manage to get some exhaust pipes made from the block-huggers to the mufflers..not much clearance, but with mounts close to the mufflers, they should work and not rattle on the xmembers too much...
just made a bracket off the triangle flange, that goes onone of those double stud rubbers, and by the time I do the rear mount, all should work just fine.
Been busy downsizing my collection, wrapping..posting..here is a rare set of short water pump double top, double bottom pulleys...$60 the pair..
Chroms SWP genie top, and repro lower, will be $60 as well.
unusual combo, but all I have to suit long water pump, is this alloy top, chrome genie bottom, at $60 a pair as well....
and while I'm e baying and finding parts.....came across Mums old flying seagulls...who remembers them from the 40s/50s/60s....I held them as a keepsake, but just researched them on the net, and found a set for sale in Sth Aust for $1100!...and another set in NSW for $700..wowsers..so I bunged them on e bay as well for $400!
put Mother-in-laws old candlestick holders on as well...amazing how much this old porcelain stuff is worth...more than deuce parts!!
word of warning about tyres....been quite a few stories about tires failing, and usually because of age...this is the end result of Bruce Burroughs having a tire fail, flipped it on the highway, and as you can see, he was lucky to escape serious injury!
really need to consider when to change out tires...I had a Michelin that went weird, one section just failed internally..lucky I saw the bulged exterior before I drove on it..
Mal case had a rear fail on him in traffic, and he was lucky not to have an accident...so maybe we should all think about this..my Tudor rear tyres are now coming up to about 14 years old since fitting, but have done probably less than 5000 miles between the three  cars I have had them on.....food for thought...
and just when u thought you'd seen everything...Motor-Ex in Sydney...hmmmm.
