Boys Day Out...our visit to East Coast Race Cars

so..most of us met at the PB Yatala...about 20 or so..looked like a good day for a drive in the country...

Destination was Craig Lockharts East Coast Race Cars shop at Wonglepong...where's that!!...1/2 way up the mountain out the back near Tamborine...top spot to live and work...
always high calibre cars on the go here...
and the guys were busy as beavers soaking up all the cars/parts..in the end, i think we had 28 turn up..even Boydie came all the way from Broadwater..just a 2 hour drive....
what these days are all about...talking cars and whatever..
left my Tudor at home today and rode shotgun in the captains 40 coupe..that little flattie gets along now with the 5 speed overdrive box..
parking was up hill, down dale...
 flathead...prettiest engine ever!
Craig has lots of eye candy around..
 brilliant workmanship..
 ditto..
 more.
lots of room here under this hood..

under the house...the private collection of bits...and a few customer cars awaiting their turn..
3 window..all the way from Argentina...
 cackle car in the build..
coupes x 2...2 more, that is...
 hot windsor in Craigs falcon..
 Hemis on display..
chopped merc in the build now for many years..
just about a whole roadster here in bits..(needs the other side to this, he does)
 32 doors
 cool gear just hanging around..

 yard art flattie
 old injected sbc for display
home and workshop are at the top of the hill..amazing view, and breeze..
 more yard art..

the view from the deck upstairs...nice!
 spare cowl..

check the famous names on this unit...plenty of US guests have partied here...Billy Gibbons..Jimmy Shine..the late Pete Chapouris...and many more..
 eye candy pile..
spotto on the way back out..more yard art..
Lunch at Canungra Pub...all in all, a great day..
and, on the wall was some pics, and I didn't realise the coonection between Craigs Coupe here...and..
here it is in the 60s, in this Early Times photo..
yep..same coupe..was owned then by Jerry Slattery...had a couple of aussie owners before Craig turned it into his own ride...neat story.....
Thanks for the invite Craig..Top Day!!

Yamba pics..still having trouble loading...grrrr.

Looks like there was a problem with the size of the pics in my camera..can't seem to sort out last nights photos, I tried to load twice more, but still came out in large n small format..so be it..too hard to change now...
all these pics I took off my phone, and they seem to be ok, just a bit hazy compared to the camera..anyway..onward we go...
36 tub sporting TAS plates sure looked great
Now...if you want to get attention.....
saw a few hemis this trip..old school still looks the goods!
another of my favourites....my list is huge of the cars I like
suoer low roadster with another hemi...don't let the rain stop from having fun..
Warren changed the look with the current "black" theme on his wheels..jury is still hung up on this....
rainy days...spend time with friends on the patio..more beer, same recyled hot rod stories..
wasnt really a week of rain..luckily, most of the heavy downpours were while we slept...most of the days were just a few annoying showers...like every day!!
always a stunner..local Yamba-ites , the Griffiths called in each day for a chat at our "Shed of knowledge"
grandies, sitting watching the cars go by...and loving it!
Shane-Doug-Chris and myself..having fun at the local course...only week of the year I play...thank goodness..
 Hit it Chris...no..not that way...
son and grandson cutting laps in the parks trike
a dose of Liberty, and a couple of Deuces, makes for a good day at Yamba, N.S.W.
the Cases in their chopped steel tudor booming past us at Chinderah..
Yep..those megaphone tips and a healthy 350 means we had to hang back to hear each other...loud...I said..LOUD!!
that's it for another year..bring on November 5th to 11th 2018...my week in Yamba as usual.
