A tribute to a great drag race pioneer...R.I.P. Dennis Syrmis.

 Dennis was there in the beginning, joined a club called Performance Associates, anf they helped stage the Greenslopes Bowl hot rod show, and went on to start the Queensland Drag Racing Association, and also the formation of A.N.D.R.A.

 Dennis enjoyed his racing as well as organizing.

The strip surface was named in his honour at Willowbank

 I was fortunate to be there at the beginning when Dennis invented the "Wild Bunch" , then "Top Doorslammer" drawcards, and in a small way, he helped our Superformance Speed Shop team become so widely known because of these events. A man with a vision for drag racing in Queensland and Australia.........may you rest in peace...(Funeral at the raceway, this Friday 6th Dec at 9:30 am)
