By now, most of the rodders in Queensland should be aware, that there is to be a new revised TAC procedure that covers the building and registering street rods in our state....Forget the stories, the what-ifs and maybes...the Qld ASRF/Qld. TAC were asked by Queensland transport to basically iron out some of the bugs in the system, and put forward a new proposal that will ensure (we hotrodders) can continue along a similar path of self regulation and inspection, as we have been used to in the past 20 years....
No doubt, there will be the knockers, but I must say, I think we have been blessed with the best sytem for rego in all of Australia....it may be somewhat restrictive in some areas, but somewhat easier in others...but I certainly wouldn't want to go back to those old 1960s/1970s days...what we fought for all those years ago, to be somewhat self governed is working fine, and we have had lots of wins, and very few restrictions....
Below (if you can read it ), is a copy of the current undertaking that Qld ASRF has proposed, in reply to Queensland Transports request for a new working plan.....note that as these are PROPOSALS and DRAFTS that QLD ASRF are putting to the Qld Transport, there may be areas that will change....
Above is my take on all this is, we were told by the Govt. to do some "house cleaning", so let the relevant heads of ASRF/TAC sort this out on our behalf......
Like the old line.."When you're on a good thing...stick to it"
