What have I started..!!..mens day out shed raids..first of many..

We have talked about this for years...the chance to take a day to go visit with people..so I made it happen..10am..first stop..Coffee!..and 30 guys turned up for the days activities...
Gordon B lives right next door, so a quick walk to check his current stable of cars..

Then, the 15 minute drive through the back of Thornlands, and onto Redland Bay to visit Wally and Michael at C&W
we all got the shop tour of how this innovative company lays up there fibreglass bodies...
vacuum tanks, a bucket full of resin, and let the machine do the work...takes only a few minutes to accurately spread the resin thru all the layered setup, ensuring no air pockets, and a flawless finish
small shop producing world class products..

not just bodies..frames as well, or turn key cars

here's Michael explaing how it all works..
and wally pointing out how the floors are made

 aha..I spy a Hemi..
some parts are still hand laid..
all these sections go into the door jams, making a very strong box section panel...all these bodies have been stresssted and far exceed what is required..
32 tub project in the making..Michael showing the intrusion bars formed into the door skin
lunchtime..of to the Redland Bay Pub..
management had us in the undercover area closest to the water...perfect weather, beautiful bay breezes, great company...guys just chating about everything and anything..
look at the weather for Spring...awesome
smile!
to cap off the day, we went back to Dave Fairbrothers home..thanks Dave and Lynne for putting on arvo tea...and showing the projects off...
 Davids recently restored 1928 Mettalurgque..
 the 48 merc chassis..
 the 1931 Rolls Royce project..
 parking in the bushes..
or down in the lower 40...
or out beside Daves 40 coupe..
so that was it..a very successful event, that I think it will be a regular event on the calendar
