Once again, I'm lost for material to blog....

 Les phoned today, to keep me up to speed with his days in Texas..and he mentioned about the man he purchased a Hemi block from..small world, as I had met him over 15 years ago, and had seen the cool supply of Hemi parts he had/has...

So, Les sent a couple of pics taken there...like this rare front driven blower hemi

 couple more cool cars at the shop...like this multi-carbed six..

and this blown hemi powered coupe....which got me to thinking about all the cars n parts I have stumbled across in my years of visiting Texas...so below are a few, and you have to realise, lots of our US friends are able to hold onto parts for a long time...I guess rare parts don't take up much room, and hot rod material seems to always increase in value...

 2004 from memory...Hemis were still there for the taking..Lubbock, Texas.

 same yard...plenty of Model As could be bought...all this yard has completely gone now..

 small town in Texas..hot rods in the old car showroom...

 and me, Col n Charlie, hauling a load of core 9" Ford rearends back to ship home..

 Sid n Sues place, around the corner from where Les stays...

 Charlies son Tony had this old coupe for $18K from memory..10 years ago..

 Kikin street rods back lot...nothing there now...

 I first saw this 32 five window in this condition around 20 years ago.....it's still the same..owner has since passed, but the car remains with the family...

 this was about 2004....not sure what happened to it...

 also 2004...saw this car many years later..still the same

 and this in 2004..luckily, Les was able to purchase it last year..build in progress now..(that's what the Hemi block was for, to start chassis setup. )

can't remember where I saw this coupe...but so exciting when you find them just sittin'..waiting..

the things you find..

 so, brother in law Col tells me he has bought a hoist from a man on the other side of town, and we need to go get it...and first thing we see is the small shed that has a Rolls Royce in it, as well as an early Holden...we removed the hoist, while talking about the other cars...the Rolls are both for sale...and maybe....might let the old Holden go as well....

 76 Rolls is $12,000...in case your interested, his name is Ron, and you can get him on 0427 287980.

 the other Rolls is down on its luck a bit...and is $9,000...

 property is sold...there is one huge home made shed down the back..probably 80 ft x 30 ft..would be very hard to pull down and remove, but this smaller 6m x 9m is also available for $1500...but you have to pull it down yourself..

 but...Col kept coming back to the FX, and remembering the days back in the 60s when he had a few of these....and..hit the key...it starts up, clutch was a bit frozen...but then, off for a drive around the paddock..

seems to be zero rust or damage anywhere

settled..a deal was done...could have driven it, but put it on the trailer, now home at Cols home..expect to see it at the next coffee morning on the 4th June!

 set of 56 Chev hubcaps are $300

 283 valve covers are $100 the pair..straight pattern, not offset

 one only rear door goes with the "A" parts

 LH fender pretty good shape, but has a tear...

 RHS fender pretty good, but someone cut off the piece that rests on the frame..

 rear fenders for a Tourer/Tudor look to be in good shape..

 61 model Chev diff..new brakes, new wheel bearings, $250

My own parts..I still have a couple of Ford Flatheads I want to move on, so I have reduced the price a bit, and added some extras...I bought a $100 box full of Flatty parts at Rocklea swap, and these bits will go with both these engines..$1000 takes them both, with the extra parts..

 The red motor is a 46-48 style 59A long motor, and is siezed..been sitting for years, so may only be good for parts..

 The silver engine is an early 24 stud, so probably 1938 model..was sold to me as a useable engine, came from the Imbil sawmill ..all I have done to it is tip some WD40 in the plug holes, and turned it over a bit..with that box of extra bits I purchased, there are now some water pumps and some ignition parts that will go with this one..

 $1000 takes both flatheads, and some spares..
