Ok..enough already...I've been away...here's your fix!

I told you I like my caravan travels as much as my hot rods...so it was time for a quick 5 day escape to the coast...weather was perfect!
Da-daa!...an hour n half later, and we're all set up at Kingscliff  ready to hit the bakery, then have an early "happy hour"
Yep...didn't take long...our little group have been travelling together for 14 years now, and we do have fun,...the "gray nomads"  are "young at heart"
But,..had to leave briefly on Saturday...wasn't going to miss the Rods Inc 50th celebrations....who would have thought, back when we were 14, that a hot rod club we started would still be going strong today?
 Benches were full of memories..
some old, some recent, but all about the sport we love, and what keeps us ticking!
even had transcripts from the minutes books from the 60s.....that was great to read!
The Mt Gravatt club was dressed for the night...about 120 attended from memory.
lots of faces, some old, some new, but all swapping stories.
Live band was great...just a tad loud for this ol coot!
They had a limited print run of a 48 page book, well worth getting, but be quick...ph the club to get a copy before they all go....0416 054 629
We tried to put a list together of who has been in the club in that 50 year time-span...came up with nearly 250 that have been in it!..amazing!
Umm...me, lost for words....said no one ever!
lotza fun..the older members from the 60s/70s were flappin' gums all night!
5 hours wasn't long enough.... we could have chatted about old times 'till the wee hrs. Was great to see George Higgins get acknowledged as the longest serving, and hardest working, member....40 years now........and also, long time member and supporter, Randy Bayer was awarded Life membership.
so...for this week...we go on a cruise to the Rathdowney pub...meet at the BP at Yatala at 10 am..........or just wait on Mt Lindsay Hwy after Beaudesert, and tag along!
hope it's as big as Bribie...that was a fun day!..over 70 seated for lunch!
For no particular reason...this is how I feel from being at the beach....
Now...some important bits for me...my magazine collecting is going well....and I have lots to swap or trade if possible, but I still need the following...Aust. Hot Rod, issue 1...and Oct 64, Jan 65, May/jun 65, May66, Jun 66, Dec 66, Aug 67, Oct 68, Nov 70, Dec 70, plus many more 70s.....similar story with AHRR, missing lots, but mainly some from 65/66/67/and 68 era...
Graham craven asked me to post pics of the improved A sedan he has for sale.....all I know is...a recent import, as landed, Ford powered, and $33,000...now that sounds fair.
He may be a tad negotiable...try him, on 0413 207 220...he can only say yes/no...
