That's better...the last posting I did, the pics were in large format.....all fixed now, so I can add text...
Once again, thanks glenn, for the use of the 4 post hoist to take out the trans I killed...
here's a tip...if you screw up with a 700, and don't leave room for the speedo cable...just flip the tail housing so it faces down...and hello...problem solved!...also notice my feeble attempt to keep some heat away from my feet...header wrap one side only...too bad for the passenger...
Grrrr!....thia was an expensive lesson...listen to your auto trans specialist....
still sort of clean after 6 years on the road..reminder for me...I had a leaky master cylinder as well, it was a repro XY..not sure why it started leaking, but I replaced it with a s.s. sleeved PBR unit...all good again now!...Think I might try to direct some air to my trans-cooler.....one day...I might get around too it...
So..todays event..Dec coffee morning was the biggest ever!..75 cars rolled in..as usual, I got there at 7am...already a dozen or more there!..Thanks, it must be working..a good way to catch up with like-minded people..
talkin'

walkin'
Maccas Bakehouse, Victoria Point...room for another 100 cars at least...c'mon down..
think I'm about to get the Cheetahs farewell...
tuff deuce..
10 second street car..
so..back home, and I had to fix the 3.40 centre i just put back in the Tudor.....it had more of a hum than a Tibetan Monk!...anyway..I used EA style axles, as they shorten up real easy for use in small brg 8 or 9 inches...but you have to be careful with the seals, as the EA axles are slightly tapered, and the seal doesn't get a good seal..When I first built it, the seals leaked from day 1.So I did 2 things..I shortened the spring in the seal, to make i tighter, and
I put the seal just at the start of where it goes, and let it get "pushed" into an area by the lock ring, as you tighten the retainer plate...after doing this, i had no leakage...
only othe rproblem to solve is the EA has a large brake drum locater, so either have it turned down, or open the drums to suit, as I did..
OK...stop your whining...get outa there..
Now for a trip to the coast tomorrow, to see mark from AUSSIE DIFFS, for a new set of bearings...
Back in the 60s time warp here..John Davies sent some cool pics from the past..
