Lakeside is always a great destination for a day out in Brisbane..This historic race track is steeped in history, so nothing better than watching the GEAR members do laps, just as if it was 40/50 years ago
No one was sure about the weather, guess that's why there was only about 20 cars from my invite, but the day was great, no rain, and only drawback was a couple of incidents on track stopped our usual few hot laps we get in the lunch break..Understandable..bit of oil on the track doesn't go down well with hot rods with limited adhesion..
much modde mini was rescued and rebuilt for this style of racing..
now..check this...suicide doors...and what loks like motorbike carbs..or am I wrong..
and check the steering..factory original, the owner tells me

oil and race cars, and wet grass don't mix..sorta glad we didn't do those laps today.
