the 2nd "Boys Day Out" run...busy day!

These are great days!..22 guys turned up at AMICA coffee shop for the start of my second boys day off...it's tough to get this lot going once they have started talking...still, that's what the day is all about, go for a drive, look at some stuff, and catch up with friends...
and..a good mix of early and late cars..
 couldn't resist the 'convoy" pic..
First stop, Redlands Museum...some hadn't been for a while, others had never been...
fantastic history of our area, The Redlands..
 great mix of displays...
old truck certainly got everyones attention..
 and more..
more..look at the mural..when we used to be the farming capital..before the housing developments..

This is special to me.but more to my wife Anita, and Brother in law Col..their dad Ray Dunn flew SPITFIRES in the 2nd. W.W., and this is his dress uniform they donated many years ago

Next stop, was a short drive to Cleveland Point, where Mustang owner Bob Cooper (with the sunnies on his head, talking away) volunteers his time in the V.M.R...so we got to go over the boats, and here the stories of their rescues etc...these things are monsters...twin 300Hp outboards that drink 100 plus litres an hour...costs a lot to save someone , doesn't it!!
must be hard when money doesn't come freely to great organisations like this
well worth the 20 minute stop at 'Volunteer Marine Rescue"

Lunch stop was at the Cleveland Tavern..plenty of seating, great food, just a bit slow getting the food out, still, with that many hungry mouths, it all takes time...once again...the talks between everyone went on for a while..but at about 2pm, time to head to my place for the last stop..
had all my deuces out to see, plus all the trinkets in the workshop..hope you all liked it..!!
Big day..last few left at 5:45...now..to plan the next one for January....great day out, guys!
stop press...couple of late pics courtesy of Tim Bartrop...big boats, hey...
and..perfect weather..life on the waters edge is pretty nice..
