Things I saw, or talked about this week...

From Ken Brown..finding an old tub on St. Helena island...way back when..
Looking for old ROADSTARS pics and found this one with Ralph Donahoo in his Y block bucket
line of hot rods at an early Surfers paradise drag meet..Evans..JDs, Garry Wrights maybe down further..
cool shot found on the net...
Likewise, this wire wheeled 3 window...I like this trend..
saved this just because the colour was interesting..
off the net..someone getting ready to build their race car for the NHRA 1955 Nationals..
off the net...wow..low enough for you?..early Model As look so good, the cowl shape, hood, fenders..Henry got it correct!.. just don't ruin them with a deuce shell..
think I posted this before..les Winter, early 1970s, S.P.I.R. raceway
who remembers the Big T kit
our friend in the US, Charlie Duran, wants to sell his 32 Victoria, and as it fits the criteria to come into Australia by it's build date, thought it best to advertise it here..and this is where Les W lives now, so he is quite familiar with the car..has worked on it for Charlie..
350-T400-Jag rear-4 bar front- it's $69,000 US $$$, so, with exchange rates, shipping, GST, port charges, and maybe asbestos inspections, expect it to owe around $90,000 or so by the time it arrives in Australia
 Charlies cell # is 0011-1-817- 992 8007
title shows first registered in 1988, so meets the Aust. Govt. pre 1989 rule.
found this old pic of Chris Dansies A tudor...nice car!
also found a pic of when Don Langdon came up this way with his custom 54 Ford
 old A tub at my house, late 1960s...behind it..the old cream-puff 54 Ford I crashed ..
 cool 60s US pic..
old add for Gary Densham...$5000!..bargain..wonder what year this was...
Holy A bone batman...probably a mint set of fenders before they became ......1Lb. lighter..
David....here you go...dump that Tudor and start on a track nosed bucket again...
 who remembers..Ron Floods superb A from late 60s W.A.
Rods Inc. at the drags..Nationals at SPIR 1967.
and who were they cheering...no..not Dennis Walford..it was Rods Inc.s 18 day wonder in the other lane..three main owners Geoff hayes, John Guerin, and myself...and, with all the members help, from nothing to racing in 18 days!
seeing Mike Claridge had his custom humpy on the market this week, and me doing research on the Bay Area club..made me think of this cool car..Tom Chestertons
Les spied this bottle display at walmart the other day..
forgot to add this a few months back..a local Corvette collector sent me his garage pic...nice!
ex Bob Hilton, ex Ken Brown...wonder where this more door ended up....
another great shot of Les Ws roadster that was also a sedan delivery sometimes
Tony sent his pic of a mill with unique gear change capability...
just use an early Ford gearbox...simple!
talked about Doug Pross this week, and his cool tub, ahead of its time..
the start of the Calypso Green fetish..Scrivos 30 roadster..
wonder where Tony Van Zeelands Mustang funny went to?...has to be early 1970s..
speeaking of early 70s..Alan Troncs home brew deuce 3 window used lots of weierd parts..like Volkswagon doors.....where did this car disappear to...like Dave Gardners tub..no one seems to know..
we were talking this week about who went on the tour all those years ago..and what and where we were at this time in August..41 years ago!
Les phoned to say the big 425 Olds that has powered the sedan for like forever, well, it finally succumbed to old age..and as hard as he looked, could not find another of this late 60s Toranado engines...so..find a replacement, but this time..455 cubes!..gettin it in quick, as he needs to drive to Kansas/Missouri in the next week to run this old gal at the HAMB drag meet..
and he did want to let you Model A, and 33/34 owners know, that the spigot bush was incorrect, too small, but he fixed it by drilling it out to 19/32"  .....so, MOKAN DRAGWAY, Aug 19...better get going, Les W!..good luck!
