end of 2nd week..a fix of NHRA Drag Racing and more..

only way they could get a pic with Alexis.....
have to say..a trend might be happening here...showing a "wrap" of your engine..
34 styled Internationals sure look impressive..
Toyota trucks are starting to fill the market..
would love to have one of these back home..
Houston weather didn't look good...but they got the whole meet in..
 like Formula 1 and Nascar...big $$$$$$ everywhere..
a trip down to the Sportsman pits is always good..
got a soft spot for the old Chevies..

 Matching team..swoopy Camaro roadster
 almost identical...
lots of nice detail on this one..

 pairs everywhere
 there was three 'Vettes here..

 the office..
 turbos..injection..nitrous..blowers..cubic engines..racing has changed a lot since I quit.
 Yeah, yeah...we get it!
stopped by to see ex-pats Steve and Janelle Harker....and Gary Phillips was there helping to crew on their Top Alky Funny Car..Brisbanes Jeff Burnett was in the pit behind...saw David Grubnic tuning the Millican car, and Steve Easton crewing on Pedregons car..that's at least 8 from Brisbane at this race!...I didn't see, but heard Shane Tucker was there as well with Erica Enders Pro Stock Team.

 Harkers "Speed City" TAFC

ran into NZs Robin Silk after the drags..he was in So-Cals John Reid 32

we only stayed for the Fri qualifying..spent sat at Bruces Rod Shop, then headed back to Fort Worth

umm...now we're back on the Sat nite at Fort Worths Kennedale 1/8th mile drags
little track has a huge fan following..
all types of cars and engines..all basically heads up gruge racing..
couldn't miss this in the night!!

 Racing fuel on tap!!

 crowd going off!!
no policing of people on the startline..anyone can go up and they surround the cars as they leave....try that at Willowbank!!
waiting for the cars to burnout between the masses..

there's a car in there somewhere, about to leave..
so...there we have it...next blog..the Pate Swap Meet..
just a few more from Houston....taken from my tablet
 hiding Pro Stock secrets....
The Force gals are always popular
work never stops in the pits...come race day...a 45 minute turn around usually...in this race....during pro Stock..Erica Enders needed to do an engine change in her Pro Stock..it was done in 11 minutes......and below...shot of the impending rain, that never fell enough to stop racing for too long...NHRA are very professional at making sure the track is right, and the cars get down there, all the time with fitting in for television..
