Blog # 788..Birthday greetings and more...

Just wanted to start by wishing a Happy Birthday to one the pioneers of aussie rodding, Leon Birss.. he's one of our keenest local rodders..79 years young today, a bunch of cars on the road, and more in the works...
Leon shot to fame in the mid '60s with his flattie powered 26 T roadster...(He's still trying to find it again, it's somewhere up here in SE Qld/Nth NSW..anyone know where?..he would love to see it again, 50 years on!
Leon moved from Victoria to Queensland in the late 60s, and got back into rodding with his 34 sedan
This neat Toyota hemi powered T coupe replaced a Toyota hemi powered T tudor..can't seem to locate a pic of the Tudor..
current comfy rides are between his Mopar convertible....or..
or, this Mopar coupe....and, there's more cars in the build for this dynamic rodder..

Best Wishes, Leon...
Before I forget..I got the last lot of the 32/85th key rings in last week, so quite a few available again at $10 each...but I also got 10 of the 75th Anniversary ones..same price, very limited Qty..0437323133 if you want me to save you one or more..
Boys Day Riun reminder..next Wednesday, 22nd March...meet at 10am at "MUMAS CAFE", 73 Panorama Drive, Thornlands, for coffee and catch-up...then, leave for Capalaba around 10:45..
our morning stop will be at "SHED 27"..this is great facility, that not only has a Mens Shed, but offers courses in restoration and fabrication, youth mentoring, and maybe important to some of us, this is where all future 1st and 2nd inspections of Street Rods will be held..27 Neumann Rd Capalaba
Lunch will be back up Ney Road, Capalaba, to the Sports Club...good food, plenty of parking..probably be there 12:30 to 1:30..
Going to finish the day with a short drive back to 34 Worthing Street Victoria Point to hosts Garry and Deb Moores home...while their, daughter Cassie will show us through her and husband Steves Upholstery and fabrication shop, SCP Automotive..finish up with a cuppa and head home.
I know this blog goes far and wide, but it is Redlands based, so I am going to start mentioning a few business places, that may come in handy for you locals...and had to mention my son Chris...
And his sign says it all...give him a try if you need anything...0408 195 952..
So..that's it for this blog...been waiting to see if anyone sent pics from last weekends Toowoomba rod run, or the Rockabilly Revival..will try to track some down this week...Thanks..Greg T.
