36 years ago, I teamed up with Brother-in-law Col Dunn, to start a speed shop here in Brisbane...he had been running a successful mechanics business since 1972, we both had the go-fast bug, so thought we would try our luck!..it was about week 3 of August'79 that we officially started...
I decided we needed a catalog to help bolster the print adds, and race car sponsorships, so every couple of years, I designed a new one.....this is what helped us become known, Australia wide.
we went in great leaps...1980 was double the turnover to 1980..likewise the ensuing years...3 staff to start, and topped out at 19 in the 90s....thousands of customers helped us along..
Racing was in the blood!...those early days, even the girls raced in between raising our sons..
at an estimate...we must have brought at least 300 container loads of stock between 1984 and 2002, when we started trimming down the workload..
26 years we were in business, before selling out in August 2005....10 years ago!!
